Maths Fraction Checkpoint Portfolio Sample

Description: In maths a few weeks ago we did a Google Doc about fractions as a rich task. The top line are questions which give away the thinking, and the bottom line of questions are questions where you have to think about what to do.

Feedback/FeedForward: Good strategies Tane. Next time think your answers more straight. #sammrss

Evaluation: I think I did well at showing the strategies but next time show more what I was really thinking.

Dice Writing Portfolio Sample

Description: Today I rolled two dices, and each dice means something to do with writing, like dice 2, rolled on 3 is onamateopeia. I got a two, so I did what I do, and I got another two, so I had to use alliteration.
Feedback/Feedforward: I think you could add a bit more to you're sentence but I like the game and how you make a sentence out of the numbers and how that the dice (says) what you have to make a sentence about.
-Tom

Evaluation: I agree with Tom that I could've added a bit more in my story, but I think I have explained it very well.

Bookapedia Term 2 Research Skills

Skimming and Scanning
WALT: create criteria to evaluate sources
A good source:
-has a good reputation, be from a trusted expert
-not ask you for private information or have virus warnings
-contain the keywords/information you are looking for

Summarising
WALT: Persist to find information to gain a wider perspective
My Task evidence for this week: You wouldn't want to be a medieval knight because there is a lot of time, 7 years to train, then another 7 years as a squire before becoming a knight and you would be very young when you start training, at around 6/7 years.

Notetaking
WALT: Organize our notes to make connections and find gaps.
Feedback/Feedforward: I like how you explained what a good source is. Maybe next time explain more about the task because if an alien came to school and read your post he might not know what you mean.
Alex

Evaluation: I think I have got better at Skimming and Scanning because I already knew how to skim and scan but I had a wider basis of key words, so narrowing the key words is good because I can spend less time skimming and scanning but more time making decisions and researching.

Japanese Portfolio Sample

Description: Each Thursday afternoon we have been learning Japanese. On Wednesday, 29th June, we are going to I.P.U to see some Japanese culture, instead of going to Japan and travelling halfway across the world, although that would be nice. We have learnt so far hi, counting to 10, greetings, body parts and there is still more to learn!

Arigatoo means Thank You! Arigatoo! (A-re-ga-tò)

Feedback/Feedforward: I like how you explain what we have done and are going to do. Maybe you could tell the people who teaches you Japanese. #juvenarss

Evaluation: I think I have done well at teaching a little brief bit in Japanese and explaining what I have learnt. I think that this is done high standard.
